A young Irish backpacker is recovering in hospital after she was seriously injured in an accident on the News South Wales stud farm owned by racing mogul and multi-millionaire John Magnier.
23 year old Nicole Newsome from Aughrim in Wicklow had to have three fingers amputated after she crashed in an off-road vehicle on Coolmore farm in Northern NSW last Friday.
The equine studies graduate has also reportedly broken bones in her foot and ankle.
She received prompt medial treatment following the accident and was airlifted by a Westpac Helicopter to the John Hunter Hospital in Newcastle.
Peter O’Brien, Stud Manager at Coolmore described the accident as ‘unfortunate’ and said they are continuing to help Nicole in any way possible.
“We have been in constant contact with Nicole’s family and we will continue to ensure that everything is done to aid Nicole’s full recovery.”
Nicole’s father Thomas has reportedly thanked the Magniers for all their support since the accident.
