Eddie O’Sullivan has held talks for a full-time coaching job with Super 15 outfit Western Force.

The Force need a new coach after Richard Graham resigned to take the coaching job Queensland Reds next year.

O’Sullivan coached Ireland between 2001 and 2008, a period which reaped three triple crowns and marked a resurgence in Irish rugby fortunes.

He coached the US Eagles in 2011′s Rugby World Cup.

However, it is his record with Ireland that has reportedly impressed leadership at the Perth Club.

O’Sullivan’s agent has told the Irish Times that the 53-year-old has held talks with the club.

“Eddie has not been down to Australia but he has held preliminary talks with the Force,” Baker told the newspaper.

“It is for a coaching position, not necessarily the head coaching position, as the talks have not reached that stage yet.

“There is also an interest in the vacant position at the Auckland Blues,” Baker added.
