Snow Patrol to play Sydney, Melbourne gigs

Snow Patrol are heading for Sydney and Melbourne later this year.

Snow Patrol have announced they will play Melbourne and Sydney in September and October.

The Irish-Scottish alternative rock outfit will play acoustic gigs at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne on September 30 and at the State Theatre in Sydney on October 1.

Both shows are for all ages and tickets go on general public sale from 9am on Thursday, July 19.

Snow Patrol rose to fame with singles such as Run, Chocolate and Chasing Cars, from the 2003 album Final Straw.

The band are visiting Australia off the back of their latest album Fallen Empires.

“This feels like a proper record to me,” lead singer Gary Lightbody has said

“A grown up record, but a fun record. I’ve always wanted to make an album that could rank with the ones that inspire me, and hopefully this one will. I’m really proud of this album. Listening to it thrills me and that is a beautiful thing indeed.”
