Carlton’s Irish recruit Zach Tuohy injured himself during the warm-up before Friday night’s loss to North Melbourne.
The Laoisman has been recovering from a niggling back injury but aggravated it during the warm-up, forcing Blues coach Brett Ratten to name Kane Lucas as his replacement.
“Zach’s had a back (injury) for a little bit and he just felt a bit sore during the week,” Ratten told the Carlton website.
“He felt good and then after training on Thursday he felt a bit tight again and he got a bit of treatment today (Saturday). It seemed like it was getting better before the game and then when he got out there he couldn’t twist, turn and get low.”
Tuohy’s name is on a long list of injuries for the Blues, including forwards Shaun Hampson and Jarrad Waite.
Andrew Walker was forced off early with a calf injury on Friday night, to be replaced by Lucas.
