In the guest appearance of the year, Dublin super-group U2 played a surprise gig at Hamish & Andy’s last show of 2010 at their Thank You tour in Melbourne on Friday.
The rascal pair first performed their parody song We Are Better Than U2 live, then were joined on stage by U2 to the shock and delight of the packed Sidney Myer Music Bowl.
The band that wowed Melbourne audiences in the first show of their Australian 360 tour last Wednesday, performed Desire and Vertigo.
In between songs, Hamish and Andy joked with the band, introducing them as ‘breaking artists’ before being knighted by frontman Bono with a sword.
All week, the outgoing radio duo have been touring the country on their Thank You tour. In August, they told fans they would finish up full time duties this year to pursue new projects. They will only feature on Fridays next year and will be replaced by Fifi Box and Jules Lund from Monday to Thursday.
