The Nightingale is the haunting story of a young girl in the Australian wilderness who must learn the price of seeking revenge. Director Jennifer Kent, a NIDA graduate who created Sundance Film Festival favourite The Babadook, will appear at the preview screening for a Q&A session with the audience.
Set in violent colonial times, The Nightingale has stirred up international controversy, intrigue, and acclaim. The film features new talent and familiar faces including Irish-Italian actress Aisling Franciosi, Indigenous actor Baykali Ganambarr, and Sam Claflin of The Hunger Games fame. Director Jennifer Kent will appear for a Q&A session at the Sydney previews.
The Nightingale will be screened in Newtown on August 18 and in Paddington on August 19.
